This applies to sites which have not yet been migrated to Upsun.

  1. Create site root directory (e.g. commencement)
  2. Clone site repository to a subdirectory named stage.
  3. cd path/to/stage
  4. ddev config using the following values:
    1. Project name: local.site-name.gatech.edu
    2. Docroot: web
    3. Type: drupal11
  5. ddev start
  6. mysqldump old_db_name > old_db_name.sql
  7. ddev import-db --file=old_db_name.sql
  8. sudo cp -R /path/to/old/site/web/sites/default/files web/sites/default/

So basically you have the ddev stack set up but the site needs to be associated with an upsun project
  1. upsun projects -c0 will list all projects
  2.  Do that, then find the site name and copy the ID.
  3.  upsun get -e stage PROJECT-ID stage ... once you've found it
  4.  It'll ask you something about git remotes. say yes.
